My 6 yr old son just got stung as we were in Maui, Hawaii. The screams he gave out..I initially thought it was fishing line, then I got stung and my husband a bit as well, exiting the water.

We ended up rushing him to the hospital, even after giving him some Benedryll, his face started to become red, his breathing either from the stock of getting stung or from the man-of-war was becoming a concern, cautioned my husband to not take any chances.

Poor guy, he didn't sleep a wink that night, he itched & was in pain.

I scar very easily and its only been 1 1/2 weeks, how long will the scars began to fade away? Should I treat with anything?

Oh, I like to add: in addition to urine, from past experience to myself (not with man-o-war), I found that rubbing sand on the body where the stingers is helps to remove them from the body and lessons the sting.
