Quinzee Shelter
A Quinzee is formed by piling up snow, then burrowing into the middle like a beaver lodge. Make the entrance lower than the sleeping area to trap the cold air. Allow about a 2 foot thickness for the sides and roof. Include a vent shaft large enough to fit your arm into.
